The Puglia of innovation closes today its experience in Smau San Francisco, the third international stage of this initiative organized in collaboration with ITA - Italian Trade Agency in the beating heart of Silicon Valley.

Hosting the INNOVIT - Italian Innovation and Culture Hub event, where the delegation - led by the Councilor for Economic Development, Alessandro Delli Noci, and composed of the Director of Economic Development, Gianna Elisa Berlingerio, the manager of the Research and International Relations section, Silvia Visciano, and 10 selected startups - had the opportunity to meet the audience of innovators present interested in building commercial relationships and partnerships between thematic panels and one-to-one meetings.

“Promoting Puglia's innovation, fostering collaborations with international partners and looking for investors – said Delli Noci – are the objectives with which we have tackled this new and stimulating internationalization activity, which has seen Puglia as a protagonist in Silicon Valley.

We let ourselves be inspired by large companies such as Apple, 500 Global, Cisco, Microsoft, but we also had the opportunity to present both our excellence and the entire Apulian innovation ecosystem and the opportunities that Puglia offers to those who choose it for its investments, elements that can make it a point of reference in the Mediterranean area”.

“In this regard – continued Delli Noci – it was important for us to present the Puglia Equity Fund, a financial engineering intervention which, with an initial endowment of 60 million euros, intends to give small and medium-sized enterprises and innovative startups the possibility of increasing the level of capitalization and therefore one's capital solidity, through the participation in the company capital of specialized investors. The opportunity to access this type of operation not only represents an economic or financial advantage for companies but also has an important strategic value thanks to the experience that new investors will be able to bring as a dowry in support of any entrepreneurial structure.

"Our presence in Smau San Francisco - said Berlingerio - has a double purpose: to encourage the meetings that startups have had and are still having, and to allow us, as a regional institution, to meet large multinationals such as Apple, Microsoft, Hp and Pinterest with a view to attracting investments but also activating a series of synergies which, on a global level, are now indispensable and necessary for an exchange of ideas between the realities of our territory and those who live in broader and more challenging contexts such as that of United States."
